The only reason why I haven't sold it is because it puts a smile on my face every time I drive it, the car feels solid, handles very well, and looks really good. Yeah it's not the fastest car but I'd figure for the price it would be a tick faster. To be honest I don't think there's much of a difference in the 1/4 mile from the HR 350z's. Maybe I'm just used to higher torque/hp cars and this is a step in a different direction for me but I'd expect a little more oomph. I guess it's time to mod up.

A used c5z06 will grant you both at a level a bit higher than a 370z... for a bit less $ (obviously depends on mileage, condition, etc.) But you are correct, at this price range for a NEW CAR it can be difficult to beat... except the Camaro SS and 5.0 Mustang are fair comparisons. Yes, they are pony cars and a different thing altogether than the 370z but they are right in the same price range. For balance let's also include the 135i. In fact I even considered all four of these cars and it's obvious which one I picked. I honestly have no regrets (although it may seem like it) but to be honest I'd feel better if the 370z made the same power (or even less -- as long as it was ~HR power) with a twin turbo setup. At least then bolt-ons and a tune would go a good length further.
But enough complaining, it's all said and done and my next car will most likely be a c6z06 but any time soon! :ugh2::ughdance: |

My father had an '03 350Z when they first came out, and owned it for years. One day, he got a little power hungry, well really power hungry, because he left one day with it and came back with a C6 Z51 Corvette. A few years later, he moved up to a C6 Z06. I remember a discussion we had about his 350Z when I bought my 370Z. He said, "although the Corvette's have way more power, I still miss the way my Z felt". At times I wish I had a new 5.0, or Corvette, but at the same time, I really appreciate how the Z feels when you drive it. |
