I still do not understand why I bought this pitifully slow car. :shakes head:

Here in El paso I will have some pretty good open areas to feel the cars potential and there is a nice hilly twisty road that goes over the mountain to get to the other side of the city that will be a nice drive for it.

Wifey gets the new job I get the new car. Gotta love it.

I disagreed until I read you were in El Paso. Then you made perfect sense. :icon17: A Vette is substantially larger than a 370Z. Here in CT, all roads are narrow twisties, (except I-95). The 370Z is my preferred ride here over a C6, it just suits my roads better.

The wife just has to get that job then I can get it. Just might get it anyway even if she doesnt get the new job.

its by no means a slow car, a person can just used to the power and want more.

A vette is only 7 inches longer than a 370Z (the NISMO is only an inch shorter), the exact same width, actually 2 inches less in height, and weighs less. I wouldn't call that "substantially larger". I used to think this too....until I saw the two parked next to each other.

The only reason why I haven't sold it is because it puts a smile on my face every time I drive it, the car feels solid, handles very well, and looks really good. Yeah it's not the fastest car but I'd figure for the price it would be a tick faster. To be honest I don't think there's much of a difference in the 1/4 mile from the HR 350z's. Maybe I'm just used to higher torque/hp cars and this is a step in a different direction for me but I'd expect a little more oomph. I guess it's time to mod up.

I really dont know of any other NA V6 that can beat it and most NA V8s too. Its one of the fastest V6s out there right now. And a 350Z cant keep up with me whe nwe do our Z get togethers. When I go that is.

In this price range, you have to focus on handling or power. The Z is an excellent ballance of power, handling, and price. For another 10k to 15K you can have both in mass quantities.

A used c5z06 will grant you both at a level a bit higher than a 370z... for a bit less $ (obviously depends on mileage, condition, etc.) But you are correct, at this price range for a NEW CAR it can be difficult to beat... except the Camaro SS and 5.0 Mustang are fair comparisons. Yes, they are pony cars and a different thing altogether than the 370z but they are right in the same price range. For balance let's also include the 135i. In fact I even considered all four of these cars and it's obvious which one I picked. I honestly have no regrets (although it may seem like it) but to be honest I'd feel better if the 370z made the same power (or even less -- as long as it was ~HR power) with a twin turbo setup. At least then bolt-ons and a tune would go a good length further.

But enough complaining, it's all said and done and my next car will most likely be a c6z06 but any time soon! :ugh2::ughdance:

My father had an '03 350Z when they first came out, and owned it for years. One day, he got a little power hungry, well really power hungry, because he left one day with it and came back with a C6 Z51 Corvette. A few years later, he moved up to a C6 Z06. I remember a discussion we had about his 350Z when I bought my 370Z. He said, "although the Corvette's have way more power, I still miss the way my Z felt".

At times I wish I had a new 5.0, or Corvette, but at the same time, I really appreciate how the Z feels when you drive it.
