Default Has anyone tried Nippon Oil ?

Hey guys,

I really over my self with all of the oil and high temps and what is the best oil for my 370z. I have been reading and reading and don't know if NISSANs oil is the best for our cars but comes recommend by the dealer.

I know redline is good and I have always used mobil1 0-w40 in my 08 HR 350z.

I came across this Nippon Oil | ENEOS 5W-30

Looks like very good oil.

Just wanted to know before I buy it, if anyone has used it before or know if it would be good for our cars.

Thanks

No. It's superior to any "dino" oil around since it is made from pure decomposed Godzillas.

In all honesty, I'm sure it's a good oil, but I refuse to believe that it is any better than the high quality (and more affordable) synthetics that are readily available in stores.

One think that has me curious about the Eneos oil is that for whatever reason, all but the 5W30 say "Fully Synthetic" on the bottle. The 5W30 just says "synthetic". I am willing to bet then that something about it's blend does not allow it to be marketed as a fully synthetic oil.

Might be worth a shot, but only if it's a good value. There is nothing about it that would convince me that I should spend more.

Nippon Oil Co. is the largest in Japan. Eneos is their brand. Just a hunch here, but I'm guessing they know something about what is good for Japanese engines. I run Eneos synthetic in my Trans and differential. My local shop has had great success with it.

I like Mobile 0w-40 myself, although I would like to see a BS oil analysis of the Nippon stuff on a 370Z.

Modack just curious, why you are not using the engine oil? Would it be ok to use 0W-50 over the 5W-30 or is it too light?

In thier product description the specifically mention high heat and large displacement for the 0W-50.

I used the 5w-30 eneos for about 4 oil changes now. It performs great. I do have the typical "hot oil" symptom, but I have yet to install an oil cooler, and it was about -10 degrees cooler than the Nissan Esther oil in stop and go traffic, I have pictures and documentation on my other computer that I will PM you if I can find it. It was back when I was arguing about it with my dealership and it being "normal". Bottom line, It works great. I know a lot of import shops that swear by it. If you have an oil cooler, dont be afraid to run the 0W, from what I heard, It simply lubricates things a little faster.. Im sure there are other benefits aswell.
