I meant the AT has more slop when rev matching, due to torque converter and no clutch its not direct

Btw the 7AT rev matching is not an added feature, its just how an AT tranny works, it'll rev match your downshifts...my 2000 Maxima 4AT does that lol...and with a torque converter its not all that great. Its NOT the same thing as the SynchroRev on the 6MT, which is actually useful technology for many people that is appearing on many new BMW's and stuff

I've tried it on both cars and feels pretty much the exact same in both.

Which transmission do you feel operates at a higher running temperature?

not sure but I assume they would run around the same temps.

I think typical operating temps are 190-210 F

I'm going to SWAG this and say that the AT probably has a higher temp. That's based on how finicky an AT can be when it gets warm. Heat seems to be the biggest thing that kills an AT, so that's my SWAG...

AT will be hotter because it has more moving parts with more surface area in contact with each other. Not going down the route of what kills each one though. Anyone care to take a guess as to what that excess heat means in regards to power in power out efficiencies?

No No No! The AT isn't hotter because it has more moving parts.

It's because ...... it's FASTER!
