First of all, I think it is important to let you all know that we understand that maps for the 370Z is the most important thing that COBB Tuning needs to offer to the 370Z community at this time. This survey was to gauge interest in other parts that 370Z enthusiasts might want to see from COBB Tuning, but given the delays in 370Z maps, perhaps it was inappropriate for us to post this survey here. If so, I apologize.
Regarding the 370Z maps, everyone wants VVEL cracked. We are working on figuring it out, but it is extremely complex, and we cannot offer a timeline that estimates when we will have this sorted out. We are very late in delivering these maps as we were hoping to have VVEL tuning incorporated in them. Since the time frame for VVEL tuning is currently unknown, do 370Z AccessPORT owners want Off the Shelf maps created with the software as it exists today, without VVEL tuning? Some ideas for new under the hood parts (like other companies):
* Oil cooler * CAI * LW Pulleys I'm assuming that you'll only produce bolt-ons; otherwise, I'd also say: * Valvetrain Upgrades * Intake Manifold |

In all honesty, I am waiting on the VVEL to be cracked before buying the Cobb AP. Until then, I will be considering other alternatives. I understand that the VVEL system is complex, but next time don't promise something before it's actually available. This is why you have so many upset Z34 owners on here.
Intakes would be nice, but if it's anything like the one on your Time Attack Z34, count me out. Short rams have been shown to lose power time and time again, and I seriously doubt you'd be able to make a huge profit selling those. If it were a long tube/CAI, I'd consider it. Just use hard pipes rather than the rubber hoses like your post-MAF pipes- I know that aluminum/metal retains more heat, but it is more asthetically pleasing. A head package would be awesome- think exhaust cam with intake VVEL shims for longer lift/duration. You'd be the first on the market with that. Just my $0.02. |
I think it would be good to have a couple base maps without VVEL. I'm expecting the gains will be in the 3% range, similar to the G37. I'm sure the midrange and responsiveness of the car would improve as well.
That said, COBB should still have cracking VVEL as a high priority since it is a technology that Nissan/Infiniti will continue to use for many years and it could net some huge tuning gains (not to mention a ton of sales for COBB). |

HP at the top end is meaningless to me...low and midrange torque...need moar. |
I would like to see 7AT upgrades. Valvebody, trans cooler, etc...

To Cobb, yes, canned maps w/o VVEL factored in would tide alot of people over for the time being until its finally cracked. Next question I have is, this VVEL, should it be cracked, will we see much higher gains than the standard canned maps we have now?

I mean no offense, but if you wanted head pinning (tire shredding) torque you should have bought a Camaro or the like. Just sayin... |
