Default clutch smells

anyone else having very sensitive clutch?

my Nismo 370z has a sensitive clutch... reving it just a little over 1000 rpm going reverse or forward creates this very loud smell in the engine.

Don't ride the clutch so much and you won't smell any of the friction material.

my old 350z that i traded in never had this problem... why is the 370z so sensitive? this is normal right? its not just my 370z?

ps... i have learned to drive it better by the way... rarely happens now.

It's a very touchy clutch. I'm an experienced MT driver and do find it to be quite annoying at times. It's inconsistent and sloppy at times.

Also, if you're still in the break-in process your car is going to smell a bit as everything settles in.

at first i had no idea what it was bc i never had this smell on my 350z... so i took it back to Nissan the 1st week and they told me to chill with the clutch because its sensitive on the new 370Zs. Kinda felt dumb and made me look like a first time driver! LOL!

do you recommend a stronger after market clutch in the future?

In the future, sure. But there really is no need now. Just keep at it and eventually you'll get used to this clutch (for the most part). It takes time.
