I installed the Z1 connector a couple of weeks ago. It fits fine. No need to cut the hoses. I'd recommend using spring clamps versus the worm clamps. I also replaced the small section of heater hose that runs from the connector to the heater core. As reported by others, the hardest part of the job was removing the OEM spring clamps. I eventually resorted to using a pair of ratcheting Mayhem hose clamp pliers. They worked like a charm. Saved a lot of grief. Trust this helps.
