Default UpRev and Inspection

Hey everyone! I just had my tuner install ISR HFCs on my 09 370z.

The car was throwing a P0420 for catalyst efficiency, so I thought it was a good excuse to upgrade.

My tuner suggested that he could put in the O2 defoulers to keep the codes away or he could "disable" the codes (P0420/430), which he did for my P0300 code and I have had no trouble with passing inspection. I told him to just do the codes as the defoulers seem to be a hit or miss.

However, I am concerned that this will be different with P0420/430. My question is, will I pass inspection or is there something else I should do to make sure I am 100% before getting the car inspected.

a little bit of steel wool in the defoulers works like a charm. I have some on my jeep.

Some State emissions like NJ automatically fail you if you have an emissions sensor disabled. CT could be different though each state has their own rules. There is something called mini Cats that could resolve your issues without having to disable anything.
I used these and they have been working well. There may be other options available out there.

You'll most likely fail. Disabling any O2/ exhaust codes in the tune causes the O2 monitors to show up as "not ready" when they do the OBD2 scan.

I suggest getting a tuner who can tune your car without disabling the sensors. It's entirely possible with ECUtek at least.

Its entirely possible with Uprev as well. This guy chose to disable them for convenience... when they SHOULD know that it will not pass emissions testing in their state. Pretty bad business practice IMO
