Default Clutch feels strange, is this common or a problem

I have a 09 base with Sport package manual tranny...the clutch feels real strange since new (now 3500 miles). The clutch is either IN or OUT, very hard to modulate and drive smoothly in traffic. This feels VERY different than my 06 350Z. It doesn't slip at anytime, but sometimes it is a little hard to get into reverse...no grinding, just very stiff. Otherwise the car drives fine...

The car drives like it has a racing clutch/pressure plate...but without the high level of effort required to depress the pedal...but acts the same way.

Anybody else have this issue?

Note: the car has been broken in correctly, and the clutch felt this way from the showroom. And I searched by didn't find any hits for this problem...so i assume it is NOT common and an individual car problem.

when it happens just re enage the clutch. I do that every time and it works. the only time it really happens to me is when its cold or a few mins after driving. Now I almost expect it and just go into 2nd lol These trannys are very loud and clunky which is cool because I baby the hell out of mine for about 10 mins before I do anything harsh to it.

with it being normal. Don't worry about it. my 07 350Z felt the exact same sometimes and my 09 370z has done it as well.

the clutch on my car seems to work just like the ones on my 328i, C320. it doesn't feel strange to me.

Normal...You ought to try a 2003 or 2004 Mustang Terminator clutch. It is about 2.5 times as stiff as the 370Z clutch. It was so bad that when I drove it I would always have a perpetual black & blue mark on the ball of my foot. At times on long trips I had to actually use the other foot to shift as the black & blue mark hurt so bad.

I drove a new 2009 mustang gt before i bought my z and believe me the clutch in that POS is far worse than ours feels like your pushing the car forward everytime you change gear and it's instant on or instant off nowhere in between. What with that and the rest of the car I'm SOOO glad i bought a Z instead
