OFFICIAL OIL THREAD (Trying to clean up all these useless oil threads)

Okay, so it is my understanding that all 16 rivets / tabs need to be removed and also a low profe or ramp needs to be used to change oil. My questions are what oil do you guys use? My choice is Penzoil Plat fully synth 5 30W with Bosch oil filter. More importantly, my car currently has 1600 miles on it, when would be the best time to change the factory oil? thanks so much.

While there are no actually stats as what most use here.

There are quite a few that use Redline, Mobil1, Castrol or brands as long as its marked FULL SYNTHETIC since the VVL is dependent on this to keep the valve-train quiet.

I would just change it and recommend 5k interval oil changes.

Pennzoil Platinum is a good oil. That should be just fine, as would most full synthetics from reputable companies. Nissan recommends an oil with an ester additive to minimize noise with vvel. This is where the Nissan ester oil comes from. From what I remember, the Nissan oil is really just conventional and not all that good. And it's needlessly expensive.

I don't change my oil just so I can have zero constructive input to oil threads. I run the engine with original oil for 20K miles and then trade it in.
