Time the engine property 1st, just make sure intake manifold or a throttle body is off to let the engine breathe while you crank, don't use a torque gun, you can use the chain w/o the markings but you need the old one as reference to paint new ones, make sure to triple check the chain rings count between each mark.
Also make sure to clean off the very last peace of gasket off the galley cover. LMAO it just occurred to me that you are not reading the manual, you can find one on this site or just Google for one, and open the engine mechanical section engine cover removal, make sure to read it all and follow the instructions.
