I'd check the fuses/fusible links first because it's easier and there's a chance that it's the problem. IIRC, there is at least one fusible link at the battery. Grab a copy of the FSM (link in my sig). It will have fusible link locations, trouble-shooting procedures, wiring diagrams, etc.
