Default Is the Sprint Booster safe? How long have you had it for?

Hey guys,

Today I learned about the Sprint Booster and can pick one up for a good price. I don't plan on tuning my car, but wouldn't mind a little extra response and the valet mode.

Do you think that it's safe to have one of these on a car as it connects to the gas pedal?

If you have one how long have you had it on your car for?

Thanks

They are safe. All they do is change the pedal-position-to-output-signal curve.

But they don't do anything you can't do with your foot. Waste of money, IMNSHO.

It's a gimmick. Other than the valet mode, you're not gaining any actual performance.
Frankly, the stock "throttle response" would be easier to modulate the throttle with.

Good thread distinguishing Sprint Booster vs an actual throttle response.

worth it to get a tune with no mods?

I love mine and still use it with my tune which simply retains the OE throttle sensitivity. I can then use all modes of the aftermarket as I wish. Comfort with wifey in the car and aggressive when I'm solo.

I am Uprev tuned but I think the throttle response should still be better. Would a SprintBooster help more even though I'm tuned?

Installed my Sprint Booster yesterday.. Love it ! What a difference.. No more lag launching from a red light on those hot humid days. Immediate throttle response in all gears like the car should already have, but the manufactures put a governor so to speak in the wiring mechanism that allows lag in the throttle body opening response. Sprint booster by passes it, and you can adjust the percentage of aggressiveness in the response.. Sport mode 1-9 or Race mode 1-9... I keep mine on Race 9..
