Question Oil Pump Replacement

Hello All!

I just need to know if it is possible to remove the oil pump without removing the upper oil pan. I know I have to remove the front timing cover and the lower oil pan but I'm not too sure about the upper oil pan. I'm going to replace the oil gallery gaskets and since the timing cover is already off, might as well replace the OEM pump with a Nismo oil pump.

I looked within the forum and tried google and Youtube but I could not get a clear answer about replacing my oil pump. The FSM states to remove both pans but I know many people have been able to perform repairs without going the extra mile that the FSM instructions require.

Thanks!

Found the answer! It seems the pump can come out without removing upper pan, but needs to come out in pieces and not as an assembly. This may complicate things
