And thats why it pays to do a proper inspection, generally it saves time and cash.

Speaking of which, what did you tap the white wire into? I know it’s the “light dimming” wire. |

And to be honest my skills aren’t good enough to properly check lifter clearance. At least they aren’t right now they may have to get to that point. |

Had a friend rev it a little while I checked my oil pressure gauge connections, sounds louder underneath the engine :/
|
Did you change the oil when you replaced to gasket? If you did. What did the oil look like?
|
Dark. And it was new oil; maybe 500-1000 miles if that. Redline 5W-30

Negative, not even as much as a metal flake, just dark brown.

If it is a lifter. See if you can find some BG- MOA oil additive. If that stuff doesn't solve it, nothing will. It is by far the best oil additive I have ever used.

I’ll get some of that when I get a chance here in the next couple weeks. |

http://www.the370z.com/engine-drivet...ure-gauge.html Your pressures are line from what I can see. Mid range is lower then mine. But are with 40 to 332 pressures. |
Bringing this back from the dead. Another observation I’ve made since butting about 1500 miles on it since it’s back together. Still runs fine, still makes the noise. However, let’s say I’m on the interstate at 2500 rpms cruising it will be ticking, but as soon as I give the throttle 30-40% the noise goes away, even at the rpms that usually make it.
