Looking to get the Z1 Clutch & Flywheel Combo this winter
-Standard or Unsprung Disc
-Lightweight Flywheel

ALONG with the CSC Elimination kit which they throw in at a discount if ordered in the full package.

What I am looking for is a good performance upgrade, while eliminating a possible CSC nightmare down the road.

so..... would you do it???? want to be sure I am making the right choice (quality wise & performance wise) money is not a concern here.

Probably not. There isn't a whole lot to gain unless you need it to handle more power. Light flywheel will make revmatching faster, but other than that you probably won't notice much difference except increased drivetrain chatter.

I do have this kit though using the standard full face disc and light flywheel and it drives like stock aside from increased pedal effort. Holds my 412 lb-ft without problems.

As far as CSC deletes, I don't have experience. I run a ZSpeed HDCSC and it has performed flawlessly and, to tell you the truth, I don't really understand why people are so hot to choose a CSC-delete over this option. I have read that the Z1 delete kit needs periodic adjustment, whereas the ZSpeed delete does not. Either way, I recommend upgrading what Nissan implemented instead of reengineering it.

If you're asking what I would do if I were you - I'd skip the clutch upgrades and install an HDCSC when/if my CSC failed on me. If that happens towards the end of your OEM clutch's life, then I would consider installing a performance clutch and, optionally, the light flywheel.

Put the cash towards something more impactful.... Like turbos. =)

excellent feedback thank you.

if there really isn't much difference in performance with this upgrade, you make a strong argument to put the money towards something else.

Only reason I am asking for input is because this will be the first car in which I do any type of clutch/flywheel upgrade.... so not sure what to expect.

cheers!

If you plan on being NA with a few minor upgrades i.e. intake, exhaust, tune. Performance clutchs are overKill. BUT, id say to switch to a single mass flywheel instead of a dual mass flywheel. Reason being dual mass are expensive and for what i read... don't like abuse.

+1 for the lightweight flywheel from Z1. It's definitely a nice upgrade and the car is certainly more responsive. It will drop revs a little faster, but it's a non-issue. Expect chatter.

When it comes time to replacing my clutch I'm doing Z1 flywheel with the street strip clutch
