Probably safe but, IMNSHO, not needed. You will lose ECM tuning data but that only takes a few minutes of driving to recover. The windows will act flaky until you do the reset procedure (takes about a minute). And you'll probably have to re-program the presets on the radio (shouldn't take but a few minutes).
