Fluid on battery

Red fluid on top of my battery and battery terminals. Any clues to what may have happened and what the fluid may be ? Thanks

Did you happen to get a new battery installed at a shop? The red fluid is just a protective coating to stop corrosion.

No I didn't . Was gone on vaca and safelite did a windshield repair, hit car start button but left in ACC mode so it shut down. Went to jump it and noticed all the fluid.

No problem. Even if the protective was sprayed on quite a while ago it will stay on the cables and post unless it's cleaned off.

All silicone for windshields are black as far as I have seen since I've been in the business.
