3-5 second throttle delay - please help

Hey guys!

Two weeks ago I bought a 2009 370z AUTO and I've realised whenever I floor the accelerator it'll just rev up for 3-5 seconds then moves. The problem seems common amongst 370z's after searching on the net but I couldn't really find a solution. The oil temperature is fine and never goes over 100 degrees celsius.

Has anyone got a possible solution for me?

Literally 3-5 seconds? If so, something is really wrong. Stock Zs have a little bit of throttle lag, but it's more annoying than anything.

yes literally! it only happens when I slam the throttle though.

Hmm... So, from reading your first post, it sounds like the engine revs fine, but the car hesitates to move, correct?

Probably just needs to have the fluid changed. Or it could be a TCM/ECM communications problem. Or a mechanical problem (eg, worn out xmission).

yes thats correct.

Ill record a video once I get the chance today.

From what I've researched, some people say it may just need a tune or just cleaning the maf sensors. I haven't done either yet.

well it's an automatic, it's not going to know you're going to slam on the gas so it has conservative shifting until a second or so, idk just my.02 when i drove an automatic g in the past.

Hey guys I have good news!
A member on another Z forum suggested that I should reset my ECU. I did that and wow! it dropped the throttle delay from around 3-5 seconds to 1 second and under!

For people with the same problem, these are the steps to reset the ECU:
1. Push start button twice to get - Ignition "ON", count to 3.
2. Depress/Release pedal 5 times - hard and fast.
3. Count to 10 (not 7!) and fully depress pedal.
4. Count to 12 (SES should be blinking), release pedal.
5. Count to 10, depress pedal.
6. Count to 10, release pedal.
7. Turn off ignition, then start engine. ECU reset is done!

That is great info right there and thank you for the update

I would also like to add this little info if i may...... I put in a sprintbooster module in my 2012 Z and throttle lag is GONE forever... You might want to look in on that as well. Just food for thought
