Default So my 6mt VQ37 6th gear transmission is grinding ...

Hey guys, so going from 1-2-6 the trans grinds... Did some reading... Found people on forums say is bad habit due to the "syncros" not having enough time to fall in the right place. Now I'm trying to fix that habit, but guess is to late... I do 1-2-3-4-5-----it bites(even at 53 km/h, 33 MPH) then to 6th.

Now I'm planning on boosting this car next year with Sasha boosted performance turbo. So you guys think I Should wait till then fix this issue? So far in double clutching and giving enough times and the bite/grin don't take place.

Car specs
09 6mt sedan
No mods
~124000 km/ 77 000 miles

All mantience is up to date.

Ps: went to delear they told me I'm out of powertrain by time and also 10 000 km...

IMO wait for it or do all the transmissions mods (clutch, flywheel, CSC, etc) you plan on doing with the FI system now. You don't need to mess around with the drive line much for FI mods besides upgrades so their isn't much cost savings doing it all at once.

ABSOLUTELY. Get that ish fixed. I had the same problem. Well, not the same...I was in the military, and had my roommate look after my car when I was gone. He emailed me saying that 5th gear grinded...then 2 days later, another email saying that 5th was f*@&ed and 6th didn't even register. It was the syncro gears, 5th was galled, and shifting to 6th was like shifting to neutral. Happened around 85k miles on the drivetrain.
