Had this light come up the other day. Read the code and it was P0300 for a misfire with the cylinder. I felt like that wasn't happening at all from Joe the car drove. But anyway, I figured it's possible it could be a spark plug by chance. But 1-2 days later the light shut back off and it hasn't came back on since. Why would the light come on and then go back off?

That's a general misfire code. If there wasn't a second code with a specific cylinder, I wouldn't worry about it.

I wouldn't worry too much about it unless it happens again.

This might be a good time to clean the MAFs. Super easy job and MAF cleaner isn't all that expensive.
