Crappy 1-2 shift

So am I a shitty driver or is the z fine and I need to adjust to it? I want to upgrade the exhaust but don't want to loudly broadcast

I want to upgrade the exhaust but don't want to loudly broadcast how I can't manage to shift I t correctly. My first car was an 1968 triumph gt6 mk3 at 15yrs old. I have many years on a manual shift with regular heel / toe. This z just feels slow and clumsy on the get go shift..
