when you drive a lot in manual mode the ECU/TCM will learn your driving style and inputs then adapt for when its in auto mode to mimic how you drive in manual.

if you're cruising in D at 60-70mph...your torque converter is in lock-up mode,,,stomp the gas & it takes a split second to downshift to 3rd & then upshifts to 4th about 85 & upshifts to 5th at 125 then hits the speedlimiter(if not removed) about 156mph@7k.
i've done it too many times....yes flush and fill tranny/got to repeat steps 3/4 times to clean it out.
