paint issue/question

Hi all... Silver 12 Roadster. This is on the trunk lid. Wasn't there a week ago, and I don't see it anywhere else. Anyone see something like this before? Thanks

That'd make sense but I never leave any on it... The car is also always in the garage or under a cover.

how big is the damage?

it could be that a bug died between your cover and car.

then try mild polish like ScratchX on a foam pad.

if that doesnt remove it, then it's under the clearcoat...completely etched through or your basecoat is contaminated (from factory).

it's about 1/2 an inch. The car is dirtier than usual but it was clay-barred about two months ago. I've tried everything. It's definitely through the clear and paint.

sorry to hear. you'll need a repaint in this case. check with your dealer.

I have the same issue on my hood. mine came from bird crap. it basically ate through the clearcoat.

well what the F. Is the paint on these worthless? I'm really good about not leaving anything on it. I neglect my other (much cheaper) cars and nothing like this has happened.

I had a spot like this show up on my hood. It started as a wet looking spot under the clear and then evolved into this. Nissan rejected my defective paint claim so I bit the bullet and used my insurance to have the roof and hood resprayed and a new bumper put on (separate issue).

Nooooo, I got a little wet spot from a bird crap that came off the lot. It looks like a shinny etch in the clear coat on the hood. It doesn't look like it got any worse but remains the same
