Question Tilton 40-527 continuous duty oil pump

Oh and the pump and system are full; made sure I filled the diff....run the pump......fill the diff...run the pump etc then normal fill.

Thanks guys

FYI the two bolt to the side of that "thing that hangs down in the middle" are m10 x 1.25 good place to bracket things to the car.

Phone video of my set up. Sorry for rambling and the shake video. OEM VLSD...I have the Nismo GT pro 1.5 on the way. I mounted everything to a 3/16 x 12 x24 aluminium plate. You can't tell from the video but, the aluminium above the cooler is cut out for air flow. I have the fan drawing air and with the rubber stoppers I have a 1 in gap from the body to the mounting plate all around and the another .5 " on either side of the cooler core. If you route it like I did on the diff out you will need that extra NON flexible connector. It is shorter than the flexible one and allows for clearance with that bracemail point.

Your filter must be before pump and cooler, also pump should be thermostatically controlled.

Filter is before the pump which I think will be fine. I have it on a switch on the console which I can switch on off dependant on the temp gauge that will go in when the new LSD arrives.

The answer to the question is "YES" the pump quites down considerably. It is quiter than the road race pump. That's with the whole interior removedesign too.

A little follow up to my diff cooler. I got the new LSD installed last week and also added a Defi temp gauge. So far all I have done is break the diff in but, part of that was the 35 MI drive to work all freeway. I am now using Motul 75-140 for reference on the oil this data comes from.

So while driving on the freeway the diff oil slowly climbs to 230 deg when I flip the switch for the cooler it literally takes 15 sec for the temp to fall to 185 deg where for freeway it normalizes and I shut it off. The pump is now very quite and with road noise I can't hear it at all.

Mine is mounted with rubber spacers so no noise either.

With your muffler missing I doubt you would hear it even if it was directly mounted to your helmet.

Funny you say that. When I was doing the install I had the x pipe and rear portion removed and started it up. Sounded pretty damn good in the garage with blips to about 4 k. Wife and daughter didn't appreciate it much while they were trying to watch tv
