So by looking at the pics, the problem is way bigger than anticipated. I feel your pain. The bright side is, now would be the perfect time to "crak" apart the engine and do internal upgrades.
Do you mind telling us how it happened? Were you driving it hard moments before or just happened out of the blue? I know you were showing your friend the car but how hard or easy were you on the throttle.

thanks for the concern! So this is exactly what happened my friend has not seen the car since i got it and wanted to go for a ride. i took him around the block first stretch no problem with boost. second stretch with boost again no problems, now third stretch i take off im going i get to third gear let of the throttle slow down a bit and hit it again then slow down to a complete stop. after the 4 way stop sign was clear i went right off the line first second third now the car is cruising i am off the throttle and i try to turn right to make way for a car and i notice my steering is hard look at my RPM 0 i pull over and try to start it and no more compression looking at my boos controller my safe boost is 11 i hit 14.2 somehow

So finally i got some good news the compression issue is now fixed the timing was thrown off really bad intake valves are all good but i cant see the exhaust valves fingers crossed they are okay! now as for the what caused the timing jump i have two theory's i know for sure that the the tensioner had something to do with it [Marked with the red arrow]. Now if you look at by bank two with the green arrow that cardboard type gasket blew out. Now i am not to sure what that is can anyone chime in on what that exactly is? in the youtube video the number one spark plug was out

Bigger question was what was in the oil pan? Did you figure out what the pieces were from?

so what was in the oil pan is called oil jets. now i know there are 3 locate under the block spraying under the pistons and apparently one located in the crankcase. Now i think the crankcase one is broken since i can't seem to find it. I will be going to the dealership to pick up new gaskets and ECT Monday and i will know for sure.

So from 11 PSI went to 14.2 PSI. That much boost (relatively) is the cause of the failure? WOW, is incredible as what a few LBS of boost can do.
I had an Evolution a few years ago, and after installing HKS exhaust, air filter and a Profec B controller, the damn wastegate actuator went bad and I could easily hit 25 LBS of boost. My limits were set to 19 since I did not wanted to fry the turbo. Anyhow, I manage to stay away from heavy loads off boost (until wastegate was replaced) thus saving the turbo and possibly the engine.
Since you mentioned the over boost, once you get everything back together take a look at your boost controller. I suggest a manual boost controller over a electronic unit. In some instances you can install a manual controller inside the cockpit so you can adjust on the go. I had two electronic units and both failed at one point or another.
Good luck on the findings and repairs.

Darn, lot of burgers in the oil pan.

Those are some big chunks to have flying around. I would start looking for a replacement engine

i am going to have my tuner shop take a look at the boost controller the instruction manual is no help to get into the settings! seems to complicated to use. unless someone here who might know how to get to the boost settings

So i got everything on and got the motor run all is well! so i thought something just told me to drop the oil pan one more time to see if anymore goodies showed up and i found a broken piston ring :( so i decided i am just going to pull the motor and swap it. anyone have any idea on how i remove the motor the front end is all out? i do have an engine hoist

MR.nismo 03-30-2015 05:11 PM

I hope this can help a bit (I know you are not doing such replacement but it can be beneficial at some point) http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...on-mounts.html
Search through the forum (especially on the DIY section) and you can find many removal projects, some with cool pics and details.
The engine removal is just like any other car and that is.....disconnect/remove as you go along. I will post more links as I find them. I hope the link can help you since you are going to need a few extra hands/help.
Are you doing it by yourself or do you have and can count on some friends?

I was wondering how are things going with your engine rebuild or replacement. Any progress?
