Default Switching Oil??? Harmful or Not

I'll definitely stay away from him. I do 99% of the work on my cars myself and rarely go there. I was replacing valve cover gaskets on my Lexus and a mechanic stopped by and looked at the cam shafts and one was starting to "smoothen" and he said that was because I switched oils from royal purple to mobile one. They are both synthetic 5w-30.

Which lexus? I guess its either Es 330 or Rx 330? I work for lexus and I see these valve covers leaking all the time when the mileage gets up there.

This one is a Ls430! Nice guess though, got 123k on the odo and spark plugs were bad, even though they were replaced at 75k
