So after being warm at around 180 dgs I looked down and it felt like a lil low for RPMs at 600 and when I placed it in park it went to 900. Is this normal?

Yeah i think we idle "low" compared to other engines because of the vvel. We idle low like a v8

Where do I idle? At traffic lights mostly
![]() In gear, I tend to idle around ~680 with a warmed up engine (according to OBD). Which I (guess) is what your tachometer is showing? Idling higher in park is normal. Last edited by Kaldaien; 02-26-2015 at 04:19 PM. |

I sit at about 680 in gear and 700 in park. I have an OBD2 reader that tells me the exact RPM though. It's not a huge difference between park and gear, but there's a definite difference.
600 vs. 900, on the other hand is a little disconcerting unless that 900 was when the engine was first started and warmed up. |

I have this weird issue after getting a p0300 code.
My idle is normally around 600(Manual trans) but when the ses light came on my idle danced around 1000-1100 and my gas mileage SUFFERED. I use my obd2 to reset the light and everything is fine...3 months later the light comes back and the same idle issue resurrected??? I reset and immediately all is fine again. Should I do something about this? Bone stock besides k&n typhoon intakes. |
