I've always liked the Nismo titanium shift knob. I have it on my 350Z and I'll more than likely get another one for the 370Z.

There's nothing wrong with using vice grips on the shifter. Wrap the shaft in some electrical tape. You dont want to be twisting the shifter too much. You need to keep the shifter still while you work the knob off.

^^ True. As long as the knob is well protected, you should be fine. Though, I wouldn't use vice grips, maybe some regular adjustable pliers.
