Cool How to Program your Smart Key Fob

Hi All, Hope this isn't covered anywhere else as I looked endlessly for something like this.

My 2012 Nismo came with only one key fob and I am in panic mode thinking "Man, if I lose this thing, I am screwed...." Anyways, I purchased one on ebay and it has the Nissan logo NOT the "Z" logo. Will this be compatible and, is there any way I can program this myself...??? CAn't seem to locate anything online...

It should work just fine, but you will have to bring both keys and the car to Nissan to get them reprogrammed.

It'll work, but Nissan, and ONLY Nissan can program them

As others have said it will work, the 2009 model (and maybe some 2010) came with a Nissan logo & then they changed to the Z logo.

Correction, anyone with consult 3 and security card can program keys. There are also aftermarket units that can program the keys.

just hope you purchased the right key fob. You need to get the id number off your fobe which is very tiny. I needed a magnifying glass to read it. Match it up with the compatible numbers on the listing. My local dealer charges 59 dollars. My normal key fob has a Z. The ones I purchased off ebay have the nissan logo and work fine.

Dealership will usually charge about 100 bucks to program it.

I was going to ask here how much it would cost to buy the fob from dealership. but I just called them and it'll cost $34 for the key inside and $157 for fob. Labour cost is $52 to program... I think I may just get one online and get it programmed!
total cost will be $243+tax from dealer.
