First, awesome DIY I did this tonight 250 let it go 12minutes and it came right apart. Yes it will void your warranty as far as malfunctions with your headlamps. They may also try to blame other electrical issues on you modifying your headlamps but, provided you don't cut wires and you seal it properly I don't see you having any issues.
Only issue I had with this is it is now night time and I'm unable to show off my lights...
