I did the same thing but used the outlet in the center console. I left the opening of the socket under the shifter bezel and plugged in a 2 socket

I did the same thing but used the outlet in the center console. I left the opening of the socket under the shifter bezel and plugged in a 2 socket usb in there. Just need to change the color to make it look oem.
