I followed the excellent instructions but, guess what, no weight bolted to the lid. Ours is the Touring model and I think (not certain) that the dealer's mechanic that installed the spoiler was clever enough to remove the weight. I did go ahead and add some washers to the springs and that has alleviated the problem. Thanks anyway, ranger carol
