I just used an old expired debit card. The two points were at about 11 and 4 o'clock.

It will begin to move when you do it more than an audible click was my experience. Naturally the other side will sort of tighten but still was able to get the card in there. The harder part was figuring out where the to release the collar but it's obvious if you look at it for a minute.

It did ruin the card so don't use one you want to keep lol.

FYI, if you use those plastic tools, make sure you get nice ones. I bought a set for under $10 on Amazon and they were worthless. They just bent whenever I tried to apply any pressure. I also was worried about scratching the interior with a screwdriver (hence why I bought the plastic tools). I ended up just using a screwdriver, and it worked out just fine. If you're worried, you can just fold a piece of electrical tape around the tip.

They are not all worthless. The set I got on Amazon was on sale for $7.99 and is plenty strong. But the packaging is long gone, so I can't confirm which brand they were, unfortunately.

Here's a link to the set that I bought. It was only $4, so I wasn't expecting much. I'm sure there are better ones out there, but I don't recommend these ones.

The first pic is a touch misleading because the screwdriver is at the 1 o'clock position. When you push the screwdriver in it needs to be at the 4 o'clock position then the 11 o'clock position for the second tab. I cannot overemphasize this enough because if you pry too hard at the wrong position that would be the only way I could see breaking the bezel. I finished this up in about 10 minutes and it looks great! Repped +1 great DIY!!!

This method is great if you want your start button to look like wolverine removed it lol. Just tried it with plastic trim tools and there's marks all over the place. The other method is guaranteed to to wreck anything.

Ok some of it was my fault trying to find the spots that would pop the old one out. I tried where others had and it didn't pop right out. I put the trim tool in around 1 and 10 and it just popped out like it's supposed to. Guess it's different for some folks.
