So I'm probably stupid but I can't seem to get the outer grey piece out of the start button:

I tried pushing the side and pulling it as instructed but it won't budge! Am I doing something wrong?

Edit: Nvm, got it! :)

Nice! I would just add a suggestion to use a plastic screwdriver or panel tool instead, since that plastic is really easy to mar with metal.

I used an X-Acto knife with the wide flat blade. It was easy to slide under the trim and didn't dent the dash.

I used this method but my tool of choice was a 90 degree dental pick. It was the perfect tool for the job!

Did you guys need alot of force should i order a bezel just incase i break it? Will a credit card work?

Ghostvette 11-01-2013 09:39 AM

It doesn't take much pressure to get it out. Don't use a crowbar and you'll be fine. :stirthepot:

If you break the bezel...you have some serious strength and a problem. It literally pops right out and you wont have to worry about breaking a clip.

Perfect ill use a credit card 1st to get a gap then a small flat head with micro fibers to keep the plastics good. I like to plan ahead lol
