Are their little pieces IN the center of the white cup? Maybe I missed that. |
The "fingers" are in the white cup and wrap around the ball on the shifter.
You can barely see them here, http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6040/6...2c116417_z.jpg IMG_4343 by J M Gale, on Flickr |

Thanks for the excellent write up. I'm new to the Z world, coming from a SVT Focus. I had installed a Steeda SS that made a world of difference with that car. After a week of driving the new Z I feel like 1st to 2nd can be really notchy at times...maybe I need to learn the "optimal shift rpm" on this car better or a short shifter such as this could smooth it out. I also will be applying the clutch spring mod soon, which may help as well. Rep'd +1!

Since this got bumped up ill ask a question.
How did you secure the boot to the shifter? I retained the stock shifter and just screwed it down but the top of the boot (the plastic piece) rattles against the shift shaft, I was thinking about just wrapping teflon or electrical tape around it. Just curious what (if anything) you did to keep this from happening. Thanks Mitch |
