Just to check up... How are thing going with this? Has anyone had their 370z in at a dealership and they said something about the short shifter?

How is the short shifter performing for you guys?

I've had my TWM shifter since Feb. now with no problems. I had to take my Nismo back the the dealer once since I installed the shifter. That was for resetting my steering after I installed the headers. Nothing was said about the shifter or the headers. :D

No issues here. Even been to the dealer a couple of times and the techs didn't say a word. My dealership is mod friendly.

Hey, nice write up!!! I'm going to do this tonight! Just wondering what kind of grease did you use? I prob need to stop by on the way home from work to pick some grease up. Thanks!

White lithium grease. Just be careful when you pop the old shifter out of the white plastic cup. You don't want to break any fingers on it. If you do. You have to buy the whole shifter assembly just to get that white plastic cup.

Thanks for the info! Any tips for removing it?

leeyeegue 09-19-2012 09:26 PM

Got it done! Thanks for the DIY!! Super easy since I replaced the radio before. The shifter feels AMAZING

For those of you who didn't get the twm knob, try Moddiction's weighted knobs. They are $50 vs twms $100, just as good of a quality... (no joke) The are perfect fit for this shifter. The knob sits lower than stock, plus the weight really makes it feel amazing. I have the anvil 2. I have other friends who use it for their STIs, S2Ks and etc.

I didn't check the fit with the burr there. Typically you don't want burrs on any parts so I filed it off with a round file.

Good luck with your install

It was white grease. I bought it with the kit.
