Awesome then. I was worried it would rattle and be super annoying. I'll just buy new bolts and call it good. Even if it does rattle, my Stillen G3 and Ark exhaust arrive in a few days. Doubt I'll even notice it.

you think i can just spray paint these door handles with out sanding it? or will it look cheap.

A quick addition to the DYI regarding the difficult-to-access 3rd internal bolt on the drivers door handle: don't try to remove it right away. First remove the two easy bolts, and the torx screw in the door jamb, and THEN the handle can then be pulled out and repositioned a little so that you can now get a straight shot at the 3rd internal bolt through the lower access hole, and this will make accessing that bolt much MUCH easier -- no need for flex handles, u-joints or other contortions.

Cheers,
Kent

Don't mean to thread necro but I did this today. Painting the handles while attached to the car is also a simple and viable option. First slide note cards under handles and tape them off. Next, wrap about 3 feet around in magazine or newspaper. then put a rudimentary "blast shield" on just to catch any paint blown by the wind. Easy as cake.

what'd you paint it with though?

Problem!! Cant get the blue clip off that is for the button to unlock it. My hand barrely fits back there and i dont have a grip to pull it off. Is it clipped in there with tabs or i just pull hard on it?

i took apart the back of my handles abit b4 i painted them. mainly the black plastic gasket and to take the button off. ill give warning to anyone... everyone of those lil screws contain a hefty amount of locktite.

of the 6 screws that i took off... 4 of them got completly stripped, one of them i couldn't even get off.. i ended up twisting the plate that holds the button down off and ripping the screw out (apoxy was need'd to fix it back in). went to the home depot and bought new screws. there metric size m4 machine screws for anyone who has done something similar and needs them replaced.

What is the best paint for the door handles?

I just picked up my 370 yesterday and I like the look of the black door handles. Even CF has a nice look to it.

Sorry I kind of forgot about this thread haha but to answer your question it was simple krylon. I did a once over with a self etching primer then about 3 coats of black gloss and probably 4 clear coats. Still looks great and in the name of science I went through a power touchless car wash. No issue withstanding the high pressure.

When it says to "pop out the two clips holding the black wire" do you mean take out the two small screws that are on the actual handle? one of those screws on my handles are stripped so there really isn't any way that I can take them out.

Someone please help me, I have an appointment to get these painted on Friday but I can't seem to disconnect the black wire.

I found the two clips on the inside of the door frame, but no matter how hard I pull on them the first clip won't come free. How do I get it loose?
