Help: black pearl badges

I have a set of black pearl badges that I bought from the z store and want some other parts done in the same color. Does anyone know how to achieve this color. I called the z store and was told that they get them from a place called encore auto parts but I can't find anything on them. The z store also didn't have a phone number for them. I've been to paint, chrome, and anodize shops and no one could figure it out.

Dupli-color Shadow?

I have no idea. Proper black chrome is done with a chemical bath. But I think that only works on metallic items, and I believe the badges and emblems on the Z are plastic.

The dupli color one only works with parts already chromed. If you do it on plastic it wont have that glossy black chrome-like look.

My understanding is it is just a tinted clear coat. I wonder if it would work on the plastic Nissan hamburger emblems, which have a chrome finish...

He offered a few months ago to do mine on the Z. I decided it would be too much of a headache to get every silver piece done and did not do the hamburger. He can do it though.

If the badging is just painted plastic then anything I want to make "black pearl" I would just have to paint chrome first?
