Default Another Dynamat (or your brand) Thread

so I have a question for everyone who installed Dynamat or the equivalent in their Z.

Did you only do the truck? or/or Doors?

or did you do the entire cab? If you did the whole cab yourself...how did you feel about pulling the carpet up! That is my biggest reservation.

Does it make THAT big of a difference to do under the seats and stuff....or will I be please with the improvement of just the hatch and maybe the doors?

My Z is brand new and I'm shocked at the road noise when I drive on the freeway. Looking to cut it down and quick!

TIA

First, you're not going make the Z into a touring car - but you can take the edge off and improve it some. I did the entire hatch and both doors. I also bought a set of good quality heavy floor mats for the front and the same for the hatch floormat.

My wife said it made a difference and she is the acid test.

Yeah I get that..I don't want it to be a touring car...just not so loud!

How did you feel about pulling up the carpet? Was it easy to reinstall and did it still look good?

you might just want to start with the trunk and doors. Since you could do the trunk/doors and floor in separate installations. you might find that the floor isn't necessary. That might save you some time and $$$

Dont forget to put a noise barrier like luxury liner pro or equivalent on top of your dynamat. Ive heard that makes a difference. There are a plethora of thread on this site that cover that topic. I believe one member wrote up a DIY using damplifer and luxury liner from second skin. That could be a good place to start.
