Default stock cat has claim another victim

Help. I dont know what to do. The left side cat came off eventhough one of the stud broke off with the bolt. One of the right side, one of the bolt got stripped and its the last one. What suck it's one of the top ones which is hidden, cant see from the bottom. It suck cause I drove home with one side with the hfc and the other side discounted, which was hella loud, raspy and vibrating. I was testing it on the way home. it did sound good on the left side. lucky i didnt get pull cause there are a lot of cops tonight. i was ******** myself on the way home.

sorry if this doesn't make sense. kinda buzzz right now.

Apply more than once. Let it soak overnight.

Thats why their called Demon Bolts!!
They either get removed by cutting them or using an rounded bolt extractor kit. Cutting is cheaper, and is what most do.

The best way to remove the 'demon bolt' is to warm the car up a bit to expand the bolts and then spray it liberally with a penetrant. Let it sit for a bit and remove the bolt. I snapped the stud clean off on the passenger's side but the driver's side came off relatively easily.

Also, this is a huge tip that made a world of difference for me: try and tighten the bolts even more at first to break the bond. THEN go to loosen them and they will come off much much easier, even easier than the penetrant and heat.

Yea..... It doesn't want to come off today. I add a few more spray on it and lets see how it works tomorrow.

I was thinking about just cutting the nut off. But there no way of getting the dremel in there. From the bottom of the car, you can't see the nut. The only way to cut is to strap the dremel on a stick and lower it in there.

That could work, but I am not sure if it has enough grip to hold the stud since it did not budge after you sheared it to begin with. If the stud is broken, you can still remove the cats but if it is rounded off, it will be an extreme pain in the butt to cut it out.

I soaked mine in liquid wrench penetrating oil and it came off in one piece. I just soaked it down really good and used all 1/2 extensions and sockets.

Update:

The PB blaster is only good if you haven't stripped the bolt.

Thanks to the people from Amplified Motorsports. I got my hfc on.
