I used the area behind the fusepanel on the driver side as well. Pull back the carpet and you'll see a small black grommet plug you can push from the engine bay side. To access this area, open the brake fluid resevoir panel and youll see it next to the large rubber grommet for the wiring harness. Im going to use a fuse tap as well.
