Put mine on my G37 sedan today. Install is way simpler. All you have to do is tilt the steering wheel all the way up and get your fingers in behind by the tabs on the side, squeeze, and push out. The trick was unhooking the plug. Since I was already at the dealer picking up the button, one of the techs had his pointy grabber tool thinger. Took all of 2 minutes. lol

I told my buddy we should partner up and sell these things to you guys... his cost is quite a bit cheaper. If we sold a few thousand, we could retire! lol ***Duh*** here are some pics: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...h_9439b7b3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...h_9e1e0778.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...h_d73f4116.jpg |
Awesome DIY! One thing though is you don't have to unplug the hazard cable. Just make sure you don't rip it out during install. :)

how good does this look with the red interior!! Ill have to pick this up...lol followed with the red interior seats hahaha.

Ok the red button matches the 40th. But really why so much hype over this red button. I like the illumination of the OEM better.
|
Cus it's from the GT-R which is Fu*king tits, lol

I think it makes the interior pop a bit more, but everyone has a different taste especially when it comes to something so personal as inside of your car. Either way it's nice!

Wow I need to do this mod. I was just at courtesy Nissan the other day and should have bought one!

So quick question, will this fit any Nissan or Infinity with a push button start?
|
Should do. I got the Altima and Maxima buttons and they are the same as well. I got them because they are the cheapest for a keyless ignition project I'm working on. The only difference with the GTR is that the button is red. I like the opaque because you can light it up whatever colour you want by changing the LED's on the PCB.

Just did this on my brother's Z the other day. Looks great and was super easy to install, only took about 5 minutes. He had to walk away though because he thought I was breaking his trim. Looks great, and you can totally feel the extra power! It's just like driving a GTR now!!

My son and I just completed my first mod for my '10 Nismo today. The red button looks great with the red stitching in the Nis. The install instructions and pics were extremely helpful.

Wow! I don't know how I've missed this thread before, but I just ordered a GTR ignition switch from my local dealer (using my Z club discount of course). It's supposed to be here on Saturday. I can't wait to get it installed.
|
Installed my GTR ignition switch this morning. What a great mod for the money! The car should have come that way because it looks awesome. :tiphat:

I just got done installing mine. I have a 6MT and was able to install the switch with out having to disconnect the hazard switch. I left the silver trim piece with the hazard switch in place and only pulled up the black bezel with the stitching on it. From there it is the same walk through as in the beginning of the post. It took me about 15 min. Button looks great. Like some one mentioned before the button is not a true red color but more of a metallic red. The Z should have come with it in the first place. Thanks for the DIY.

Used this DIY and put mine in a few weeks ago, here is a pic.
