Default I messed up :(

So I have a set of Work Gnossis wheels on my Z, and took them all off to do a detail cleaning on the lips. I bought some Mother's wheel and tire cleaner but did not see the part where it says to not use on aluminum wheels. Now I have this tiger stripe crap around one of my wheels. Luckily I only did it to one of them so the other 3 are good. I've tried everything and can't get that crap off. I'm considering taking it to a local wheel shop but was wondering if you guys had any other suggestions as to what I can do to save a hundred bucks.

Depends on how the lips are finished. Work and Rays are known to use a clear anozidation process that can't be fixed. It needs to be polished and clear coated.

Try Eagle one never dull wadding metal polish. If that doesn't take it off I'm not sure what will

ouch. i think you're going to need to get them refinished.

the polished area, i believe, is not polished aluminium but anodized coating per above post.
even the instructions in the work's wheel box noted not to use anything but water to wash
the wheels. i have gnosis on my other car. i only use QD to clean them with my mf towel.
fuct and raymondo510 like this.
