For a good but inexpensive wax, I recommend Poorboy's World Natty's Blue or Red Paste Wax. Would be nice to know the price range you looking at.

I can only speak for the stuff I've tried. If price is no object, Swissvax.

Adam's Americana is pretty good also and reasonably priced. The prep work and polishing is the most important part anyways. If your results aren't that great, maybe you need to work on getting the right polishing products. The wax only enhances and protects the paint.

The reason you are not happy with what you've tried is because wax is NOT a shining agent. Wax is a protectant.

If you want something to shine, you POLISH it. You polish jewelry to make it shine. You polish leather to make it shine. You polish aluminum wheels to make them shine. You polish glass to make it shine. Polishing is what makes stuff shine, Wax is used to protect the shine you get from polishing. So if you're looking for a wax that will give a good shine, you're going to be looking for quite a long time.

Here's my car. It has been polished but not waxed. Notice the shine.

By the way, I use products by Adam's Polishes.

Then that is your opportunity to not only make more money, but educate them too. What I would do is give them what they want. However, I would do a little something else. I would polish and wax a small part of the car and show them the difference. I would then up sale my polish treatment to them and let them know that the entire car can look that way. If they truly care about their car and how it looks, they will probably jump on it. You know who your customers are and which ones are picky so those are the ones who I would target.

Don't get hung up on the price of your supplies either. Good detailers use good products and their prices reflect what their abilities are worth. When someone wants me to make their car look like mine, they ain't getting out the door for no less than $1500. Plus, they would have to leave me the car for weeks, as in more than 1.

Listen to the Junkman. You can either be a detailer, or someone who just clean's cars. You'll find that people will go far and wide to have their car "detailed" by someone who knows what they are doing. Not only that, most will pay more for it.

You should also look in to Meguiar's professional line of polishes if you havn't done so already. The m105 & m205 is a pretty good combination for more paint repair work. Stick to a flex polisher or DA polisher (like the Porter Cable 7424) for now though.

Check out this site. They are a forum sponsor. They sell detailing products but also run a detailing shop. Amazing work. http://www.detailersdomain.com/

^^ junkman knows his stuff!

I watched countless vids of yours online before detailing mine about two weeks ago. I finally gave it a go and my results were breathtaking, to say the least. I washed, clayed, used zaino zpc and a pc (removed about 99% of swirls from dealership), then used z5, z2, z5, z2 and z6 in between. A-ma-zing results!!
