How do you guys usually dust your car? Mine is parked in the garage and gets quite a lot of dust even after just a night.

I use either a quick detailer, or even sometimes i break out the california duster...and or i use waterless wash...depending on how much there is...all work well

in order cali duster for very light light dust then quick detailer for anything slightly bigger, and then waterless wash, and if that isnt enough i go through a full wash.

Watch Junkmans video on this very topic, He shows the wrong way to using a waterless wash to remove dust and the right way. This will save you from scratching because as he specifically says its not the product but the techique that can destroy your paint.

Can't beat the California Duster... Softly touch the paint with the ends.. don't put the duster all the way down on your paint...

Agreed. Proper use is key - don't do the "grind the dust into your paint" method you see a lot of people use at car shows.... thats whats given it such a bad wrap - improper use.

Any wiping of the paint after the fact, go VERY liberal on the spray (waterless wash is my recommendation) and wipe in one continuous motion from one end of the panel to another, then flip the towel to a new side and repeat. Never use the same part of the towel twice, and never, ever, ever do circular or back/forth wiping with a dirty towel or dirty surface.

yep calduster for me too on light dust. if the panels even have a hint of condensation or water/rain, i switch to QD... and use a lot of product and lots of towels.

Ok I've been using the California Duster. Just wanted to make sure it was fine

I use 50 grit sandpaper tethered to the end of a broom stick. Bumper bugs don't stand a chance, but it does create more dust than it removes! Haven't figured that out yet...

I dont' even bother wiping even if there's light film of dust. Dont want to take the chance on a black car. But, I'll definitely remove any dust particles if I've just washed and drying in the garage or during polish/waxing in the garage with the garage slightly open for ventilation.

But after one drive after its been washed/detailed, I won't wipe.
