You can use it either way... if you spray on and leave it the product eventually evens itself out and dries. The only vehicle this method hasn't worked for me

You can use it either way... if you spray on and leave it the product eventually evens itself out and dries. The only vehicle this method hasn't worked for me on is a Dodge Ram pickup, something about its inner fender plastic needed to be wiped after application.
If you prefer a more low gloss finish then you can simply take a towel and knock the product down a little.
