Picked up 350z from a guy who jumped in too quickly and couldn't afford it. Got it at an awesome price, sold it to another kid who wanted to jump into it. I made some profit from it and bought a 370z the same way. Now, I'm just waiting for the next Z to come out and do it again. |

I bought my car and I plan to drive it in the winter as long as it doesn't snow too heavy.
I'm afraid the winter tires will cost an arm and a leg though. I'll worry about that in October. Working downtown has the benefit of being able to subway or drive :D Employee parking |

driving downtown with Z is a nightmare... all those damn pot holes and freaking cabbies. constructions now don't help. I would stay away in any season |

What kind of fuel is acceptable for this car?
octane 89? 91? 93? |
Get the highest you can regularly get and stick with it
|
Quote:
but as zefaulter said get the highest octane you can get constantly, I know myself and a few others tend to stick with the 94 octane available at a lot of petro-can stations  |
Does 91 and 94 have any difference in milage?
|
Quote:
Unless you are trying to Hyper-mile your 370z which defeats the purpose of having it. 91 and 94 Octane is for engine compression, use 89 and you will get some engine knocking because of premature ignition. Prolong engine knocking will wear and tear your engine faster. When you drive a Z mileage shouldn't be an issue, go out an enjoy it. |
:iagree: screw the gas mileage I use 94 to reduce engine knock like boomer said....
|
Has anyone gone to petro and gotten a car wash with their car? Wondering if the car is too low or not.
|
I go to esso when I'm lazy or during colder winter days, I have a video that you probably don't want to watch all the way. It gets boring lol

I went to an Esso, touchless wash. Had to go a bit further to find one but it was definitely worth it. Got all the gunk from the dirty rain water off.
Looks amazingly shiny again :D Now onto something a little more sad....I drove down to Niagara falls and parked it in a hotel parking spot thinking people might be a little more careful. I went to have fun for the day and when I came back, someone had dinged my driver's side area. Just a little bit behind the door handle before the wheel area. It's really small and unnoticeable in most cases but I think my OCD is over reacting. The ding isn't too serious or anything but...any suggestions on what to do? |
Access will be a biatch for pdr

Anyone know a good PDR in the uptown toronto region? Markham, North York, or Richmond hill area
|
No idea, that really sucks man... 1.Park far away from people or 2.Stop being OCD about the car. I am doing both and it still hurts every time something happens :( ******* ********
|
There is a place on Doncaster I've used. Also know a mobile guy who will come to your place.
|
It hurts...SOOO MUCH T_T It's just a small ding no bigger than a small button...but OCD is a bitch.

Has anyone tried the dent suction type of tool. I was lookign on Canadian Tire's website and they had one for sale. Does it work?

Yes and no. |
So, I have decided to not be a little baby and to ride my 370z during winter. RBC has parking for me in their parking area so I will be safe from any major snow storms that happen during the work hours.
Because I will be driving in the winter time, I believe getting a clear bra for my car is needed. I called into auto links today and asked them about clear bra and they told me "Option C" would be the best for my car which is....24” coverage front facing hood (all edges wrapped) & fenders Complete front bumper....costing my 650. Is this enough for a Toronto winter? and has anyone negotiated the price with these guys before? 650 feels kinda pricey. |
nice! Do full hood, those stones will hit all areas of your hood. Also it looks nicer since you won't have a seam halfway on the hood.
Autolinks is great, ask if they have Redflagdeals group buy pricing. Rust proof 100% required. I do Krown but most brands should be fine. You wanna do this way before it gets cold. I do mine mid August every year |

I have rust proof already at the dealership. I paid quite a bit I think, around 600? for the full bottom and inside the doors and stuff. |

The biggest issue with snow, salt aside, is how low your car sits. Snow plows are huge for a reason. The Z makes a terrible snow plow. So if you drive it in winter you'll need a heavy snow day car. As far as whether you buy now or wait...I wouldn't hold my breath for the new Z design. I'm in the camp that thinks it is going away or that they will screw it up so bad that I will deny it exists. Honestly, I wouldn't buy a new Z but instead buy a used one that has low miles (meaning it was put away in winter) and no mods (meaning it was likely not driven by someone that is well aware they come with a rev limiter! Buy a sport if you plan to mod the body or go Nismo if you don't. But whatever you do...go Z and put a the370z.com sticker on it! |

Anyone know if the wheels off a 2004 Altima SE-R will fit a 2004 G35? My son needs a set for racing. The G35 he bought came with non-track acceptable wheels. |

i've driven my z the past 3 winters, and honestly in toronto the car is perfectly fine. I run the base wheels with michelin winter tires on 225 and 245. Im 1.5" lower then stock height with a lip and i am yet to get stuck in a toronto winter. Last winter i drove in 2 of the snow storms, and the ice storm, and it was fine. If you are driving it in snowy conditions my advice turn the stupid VDC off. it hinders your ability to drive safely more than it helps you. If you stop at a light on up hill you are not gona get far with the vdc on, also the ABS will triple your stopping distance in the snow. Me personally i rather modulate throttle and braking myself for better control.
As for rust protection it is definitely good to do it, i've only done it once 2 years ago, and my car was covered with rust protection overspray all over. The two spunge things that your hood rests on when you close it were soaked with that stuff for about a year. Borderline impossible to clean them. For that reason i have stopped doing the rust protection. i do occassional checks on my underbody to spot for signs of rusting or damage doh. if you care about your paint and headlights, wrap them both, autolinks provide a service for both. For the paint a cheaper alternative is plastidip but i am not 100% on how it holds up in winter conditions. |

Could you guys speak more plain language for describing the wheels :( I'm still learning about cars as this is my first one :D.
