I did my test pipes with only jack stands and an extra set of hands to use rachet with long as$ extension to reach down to bolts on the flanges while I wrenched the nuts :nutswinger: |

I did a complete mid mount turbo kit installation with my car on jack stands. Actually, I did every mod on my car while my car was on jack stands. I need a lift. :roflpuke2: |

Whats reasonable for installing Amuse prep and paint, coilovers, camber arms, exhaust, replace rear foglight with EVO-R, install custom LEDs in front bumper?
EDIT: Might possibly repair a dent on the HKS muffler, what should I expect to pay? I'm going to ask Velocity and Alphawerx, whoever gives me the better deal gets the business come summer time. :icon17: |

You are very close to me...and yes I do have a garage with the z currently sleeping in it :( maybe we can work something out? Not sure if I'll have all the proper tools though. Should be fine as I have ratchet sets and what not. Only concern is jacking the car and jack stands. I have 2 but haven't jacked up this car before and from reading not 100% on the placement along the rails with the standard U shape jack head. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Oh I never posted this pic, I saw Melloyello back when the weather was nice. Makes my car look like a 4x4 lol

they are kinda like drill bits, knife blades etc, consumables they are only good for so many uses before you should just toss it and get new ones

talking about tools: anyone uses impact driver to change wheels/tires? will they damage anything?
|
Quote:
I'm afraid it rattle and shakes that it might scuff the rims, I'd do it old school IMO. |

i use an impact wrench with air line. never had any problems with scuffing the rim ...
|
Impact tools are ment for cars:tup: make sure u torque it properly and be careful not to slip up lol. But that can happen even going old school methods.
On another note: Anyone going to the car show this weekend? |

Will use the impact wrench next time around. I'm trying to head down to the show |
I will be there on Monday if they're open

I use an impact for removal only along with sockets that have protective sleeves for no reason other than being anal. If you're using the impact for installing lug nuts, make sure to follow up with the torque wench after or use the torque sockets.
Like these, http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/att...socket_set.jpg These are the sockets with protective covers, http://i1188.photobucket.com/albums/...s/DSC_0520.jpg |

All this applies to Impact wrench. Any ideas about impact driver? They are much smaller and lighter to work but I hear they can damage threads. is that true? |
Here's the deal with impact guns. If you go buy a professional grade air gun, u can set the torque properly. If u get an electric or battery impact gun, which i have, u need to be careful screwing the lug back on. There is NO torque settings. I use them to simply give the first 60psi and use a hand held torque wrench to set to 90psi .
Galeforce, where did u get that socket set?? |
Quote:
The other think I have done is apply rubberized heat shrink to the socket that came with my lug nuts. You could wrap it with electrical tape, or get the plasti-dip used for tool handles. |

So Awesome! |
I got a quote for $250 for coils and exhaust....

i passed cuz me and him worked out another deal that i just couldn't pass up >:) |
2014 GTA Meets
For everyone running coils or lowered. Is a front camber kit needed or just the rear? Or both? Looking to budget and be realistic.
And can these be bought locally? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm sure you can buy the stuff locally, JRP, or NextMod. I have bought 98% of my stuff from the US. Better prices than the local shops. Mind you the dollar was at par then. I would still bet better pricing from the US. |
