Saturday Show & Shine

For those of you in the Edmonton area, there is a large show & shine this Saturday August 29th. It takes place at the Northgate Mall parking lot (north side of the mall). Northgate Mall is located at 97 street & 137 avenue. Entry is free, but if you want to show your car, registration is from 9:00am till noon. The show starts at noon and there are 12 classes (including best import).

I'm going to show the 370 for the fourth time since I got it. Tonight was the wash and tomorrow I'll detail her. If you're free, it should be a good time with activities all afternoon for the whole family. I'm hoping some of you lurkers will show up with your cars and we can compare our rides. And for those of you who would like to see the Stillen upgrades on my car, it might be a good chance to see if you'd be interested. I'll also have a couple of Filter-Mags for sale if anyone is interested.

The weather looks very promising with close to 30 degree temps on Saturday. I hope some of you can make it and we can meet.

Good luck with the show. hehe - washed the car tonight and I finished up and cleaned my stuff then took off for a quick cruise. I hadn't finished washing my car 10 minutes and it starts raining.... that's a new record

damn wish i would have read this post sooner, i would have went, then again i was busy getting my windows tinted...5% all the way around Maybe a few of us can meet up tomorrow (sunday aug 30th) and grab a bite to eat or something.

Yes, that FI exhaust sounds sweet. Nice to see a fellow 370 owner come out. There was quite a bit of interest in the 370, from both young and old (which was nice). Had a great time, didn't win anything but that doesn't matter. The best import car was a perfectly restored Morris Minor from 1961 (how's a fella gonna compete with that? ).

With the season rapidly approaching it's end, there are only a few more competitions to go. I'll keep everyone informed as they come up. For now, there are still the regular weekly events (Weds, Thurs, and Fridays).

(btw, Sorry I don't have any pics from the event. I didn't want to worry about baby-sitting my camera all day so I left it at home.)

Tuesdays: Gold Dust Casino in St. Albert (S.E. side of St. Albert)
Wednesdays: Stony Plain Rotary Park (Hwy 16A & Sec Hwy 779)
Thursdays: White Oaks A & W (137 ave & 121 st)
Saturdays: White Oaks A & W

Usually these are informal meets that draw pretty large crowds and their machines. People start showing up around 6:30-7:00pm and they can last until after dark (but it is getting dark earlier and earlier now). The bigger "formal" affairs have mostly come & gone now for the summer. The only one left is "Rev'd-up" on Sunday September 13th. It's located at 19815-45 ave. It starts at around noon and there are activities for the whole family including pony rides, Police & Fire demonstrations, a rock band (live music) and the show & shine. Also, absolutely excellent food!!

Hope this helps and sorry summer is almost over for us...

is there a price to enter the show on Sept 13?

No there isn't. But you have to have registered by the first of September. I just got finished 3 nights of washing, waxing, and detailing my wife's '08 Accord and my 370 for the show. If you can make it on Sunday, please do and look me up. This is a function for my church. If you don't want to do the outdoor service, then if you arrive around noon, things should be in full swing. There is great food, entertainment, pony rides, Edmonton Police Service display, Edmonton Fire Department display and maybe the RCMP Race team. Lots to do and see. If you can make it, please bring your 370. I would love to see it and talk to you about it.... we can mutually brag Also, if you're considering any mods, you can look at mine and see if you like what I've done.

damn i was hoping to enter but im to late, ill stop by though and check your Z out...got nothing planned for the weekend so this will be the only thing on my list..lol
