I emailed most of the dealerships in the big western Canadian cities (Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver) with a request for pricing. I am 100% serious about buying the car I was talking about, and I'm not tugging their chain. I will post the email I sent them, as well as their responses to me, and you all can judge their customer service, and willingness to deal.

I am interested in purchasing a 370Z within the next month, depending entirely on the price and dealer-buyer relationship that can be established. I am familiar with the reasons that will be thrown at me to keep the car at MRSP, such as:

• High Demand
• Limited Quantities
  

In which I could respond with :

• Economy on the downturn
• Unemployment is up, job security is down
• People are more inclined to hold onto their money in uncertain times

Nissan's 5.9% financing rate is also very displeasing considering the state of the economy.

This big question is this: What is your dealership prepared to do to earn my business? (Price reduction? Better financing rate?) I will mention that I am a member of a Z-Enthusiasts group (several online forums) in which I will be reporting back my experiences in dealing with the various dealerships I contact. This is an opportunity for your dealership to stand out above the others and offer an incentive for other buyers to go through you. I, as well as others in this group are willing to travel to obtain the best deal.
